Alejandro Cabeza (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, 1971) started taking lessons in drawing and painting at age twelve. In 1993 he received his degree in Fine Arts at the San Carlos Faculty of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. His works are integrated into the permanent collections of: Vicente Blasco Ibáñez Museum of Valencia, National Theater Museum, National Museum of Natural Sciences, National Museum of Roman Art of Mérida, Provincial Museum of Cáceres, Provincial Museum of Fine Arts of Badajoz, Museum National Aeronautics and Astronautics, Army Museum (Alcázar de Toledo), Maritime Museum of Asturias... One of his portraits of Ángel Ganivet rests in the headquarters of the Association of Friendly Countries in Finland, another in the Casa-Molino Ángel Ganivet Granada (Provincial Documentation Center). Two of his portraits by Alejo Carpentier and Nicolás Guillén belong to the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba. His portrait by Ana María Matute remains on display at the main headquarters of the Royal Spanish Academy in Madrid. One of Antonio Machado's portraits of him belongs to the author's House Museum in Segovia (over which the Royal Academy of San Quirce watches over). A second portrait of the poet belongs to the International University of Andalusia. A portrait of Miguel de Unamuno authored by him belongs to the University of Salamanca and rests in the author's House Museum. One of his portraits by Gabriel y Galán is part of the collection of the author's House Museum in Guijo de Granadilla (Cáceres). The portrait of him by the poet Antonio Carvajal is patrimony of the Academy of Good Letters of Granada. Mario Vargas Llosa's portrait of him belongs to the University of Burgos. His portrait by Ramón Gómez de la Serna is part of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid. Two of his portraits of Miguel de Cervantes rest in the Museum-House of Cervantes in Esquivias (Toledo) and in the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares. A third portrait of Cervantes, owned by the History Museum of Madrid, has been chosen by the National Theater Museum to occupy the place of outstanding piece in the exhibition that will open the Almagro International Classical Theater Festival next July, thus celebrating the year of Cervantes. Other of his works will soon be incorporated into the permanent collections of institutions such as the University of Alcalá de Henares.
